WORLD NOIZE RUNNERS

richard aicher   - 04-2002

and History

for this electronic audio performance I undertook radio controlled "game mobiles" a major redesign. This now named Noize Runners" are equipped  with different  electronic sound sources and mobile amplification systems. A new selfrunning version without RC-control, which is capable to change the direction in front of walls, etc is in progress, also a version with integrated webcam and an electronic logic, that is capable to change the sounds realtime via light and dark and the distance to objects.

Noize Runner A "Big Foot" V 1.1-

first version with Sony MD Walkman MZ-2P and Philipps Speaker System.
I tested this prototype for the first time during  the "weltklang moving electronic klangereignis" on  6th of August 2002 in Munich Maximiliansforum. The pics were made after this event - during this event the mobile was involved in some serious accidents with passengers and walls and shows heavy losses.

Noize Runner B
"Slow Racer" V 1.1
V1.1 with Sony MD Walkman MZ-2P, and a Phillips Stereo Walkman Speaker System. "Slow Racer" is smaller and slower as Big Foot.

Noize Runner B : " Mono Foot" V 1.2-

This was the second Version of the heavy duty Noize Runner Big Foot. Now with better Speakers and the Sony MZ-2P MD-Player. I used it at the "Weltklang Moving Electronics Klangereignis" on 13th of August 2002 in Munich, Maximiliansforum but the load was to heavy. The Speakers worked fine, but the overall weight has to be reduced in the next Version V1.3

Noize Runner C: "StereoRacer" V 1.2

Now in V1.2  with Technics MD-Player (because of too much weight of the Sony Walkman) and Phillips Speaker System. First test at the "Weltklang Moving Electronics Klangereignis" on 13th of August 2002  in Munich. It worked pretty fine.

Noize Runner D   V 1.3

The Sony MZ-1 MD-Player was to heavy for the Engine, so in Version V1.3 it was replaced by an "Ultra Low-Fi" Cassette Pllayer and now MonoFoot works

fine

Noize Runner E "StereoRacer" V 1.3

For the three Weltklang Moving Electronic Events in Munich Olympiapar in late April 2002  "In Front of Ice and Waters" StereoRacer was equipped with a Mountain Bike Light System, because it had to be visible  in the dark. Stereo Racer worked fine but the engine was to weak so it could not climb some hills in the park.

NEW!!

 Noize Runner C "MonoWasp" V1.1

After testing the NoizeRunners A and B at the Weltklang Events outside in Olympiapark in late April 2002 (In Front of Ice and sea),  the result was, that a NoizeRunner for outdoor use must have more speaker power and more engine power. Therefore I designed the third Noise Runner. It is equipped with six wheels and has nearly the double size of StereoRacer and MonoFoot. The engne is very strong and capable to carry a heavy 30 W RMS  active Speaker System. This speaker System is Radio equipped. So it´s possible to send sound information via radio from the laptop. MonoWasp also carries an Aiwa-Tape-Recorder. and 6 Lights for night use. The first outdoor tests of MonoWasp were fantastic. MonoWasp is  an ultra speedy Noize Running System and the sound is loud and clear. MonoWasp is also capable to climbs small hills.
